74. Helping NPs Make 3 Million with Monica Carter FNP-BC

In this week's episode, I'm interviewing Monica Elston Carter, MS, FNP-BC, the creator of The Compensation Course. Monica, also known as Monica the NP, is a Maryland-native, award-winning Family Nurse Practitioner working in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Washington, DC. Monica has been working in women’s health for fifteen years, with a focus on disease prevention, health promotion and decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality.

Monica, a Georgetown University alumna, is also the lead instructor and creator of The Compensation Course - A 21st century guide to helping Nurse Practitioners negotiate their dream job! Students of The Compensation Course combined with Monica’s coaching clients have brought in over 3 million dollars in negotiated employment contracts since the launch of the course. When Monica isn’t seeing patients in the office or teaching Nurse Practitioners how to negotiate, you can find her in mommy mode to her four year-old triplet daughters, Bellamy, Kaden and Kennedy.

In this episode, Monica shares..

  • Her experience of learning that a brand new NP in her group started off making more than she was
  • Why she thinks every APN needs to know how to negotiate--in your job and beyond
  • Why she thinks NO APN should be making less than $100K
  • How she plans to grow her impact with The Compensation Course
